try to use Netman but i get the message"A required
OCX control "FLex grid control" is missing ....What
do i need? |
| |
The solution is you have to install the application in
'administrator' mode to register the OCX control. |
| |
Sometimes
I see a cross in the 'NetMan' icon in the Task tray. What
does this mean? |
| |
The cross in NetMan icon in task tray indicates
that is not able to find the server. Go to “Start Menu>>
Programs >>SmartWorks 2.0 – Personal Edition >> SmartWorks
Server” and click on “Start NetMan Server” to start the
NetMan server. |
| |
When
I position my cursor at the Netman icon in the task tray
I get a message. What does it signify? |
| |
This is the status message of NetMan as a
tool tip.
The message you get here can be NetMan Client: Server Not
Found! – This means that the client is not able to find
the NetMan Server. To start the server go to “Start Menu>>
Programs >> SmartWorks 2.0 – Personal Edition >> SmartWorks
Server” and click on “Start NetMan Server” NetMan Client:
Server Found! – This means that the client is able to find
the NetMan server . |
| |
What
does this NetMan really do? |
| |
NetMan – Personal Edition gives hardware and
software configuration of your system. NetManNote allows
you to paste notes on your desktop to remind you of your
day-to-day tasks. NetMan – Enterprise Edition will allow
you view hardware and software configuration of all the

|
NetMan
runs always on my machine. Will it bring down the performance
of my PC? |
| |
No. NetMan is a service and hence it runs
always on a system. It performs action only when requested
so by the user or by NetManServer. |
 |
Does
NetMan use SNMP? |
| |
No. NetMan is a service by itself that has
to run on all the systems to be managed. It uses TCP/IP
to communicate to the server and vice-versa. |
